Do we give life or are we murderers?

    A songwriter praised himself, he said "If
you find someone like me, that is actually
another me". These words stuck when I
heard them. How well he had explained
Originality being incapable of duplicity.
While one might sense a hint of pride in
his words, actually it is bereft of it. A
conclusion we would come to, only after
we realize these words apply to every
created thing.

    The Russians have a beautiful way of
explaining uniqueness, when translated
literally, what we have is "Unrepeatable".
In reality we all have unrepeatable
characteristics, the question thus is not
about the presence of it, rather the
acknowledgment of it. These attributes
can be called seeds, each unique
attribute bears two seeds. I personally
like to call them "C" and "W". C stands for
Correct and W stands for Wrong. Which
seed we nurture, an individual choice.
I say this because often times we hear
statements like, "A man has got to do
what a man has got to do" or "You use
what you have to get what you want".
While these are 'C' statements, it also
bears a 'W' . Unfortunately today, the
society encourages the nurturing and
care for the 'W', resulting in a throng of
great potentials with misdirected energy.
We might wonder, what makes an
individual incline towards a path, no
doubt, it is adorned with what looks like
pearls, glittery and glossy, but worth less
than the 'pearl' studs Bose sells for #50,
while she happily counts her sales at
dusk, she knows her customers would be
back again!

    How long before the real gems in our
society get overshadowed by 'Bose's
Pearls', and how long before Bose
discovers she can own and sell real
pearls? How long before we encourage
the nurturing of the 'C's' and shun the
'W's'?

   This is to every man whom the society
has told " You are so fine! Why don't you
become a player?" , keeping in mind that
he would not be playing football but
hearts, and every girl whom the society
has told, "You are so hot! Why not pose
nude or semi-nude, you would get
famous!" Or that Fashion designer, who
has been told "You are so creative! Why
don't you cut that dress here, here and
there, the more skin, the better!" Or the
Songwriter who had been compelled to
feel, the more degrading of women and
womanhood his lyrics are, the better.
How often has better taken a U turn and
become worse or evil!

   The society is made up of you and me.
Every silent or pronounced approval we
give to the 'W's' is a murder of the great
potential of the 'C's' , a murder of the
conscience, a guiding friend pointing to
what is correct and what is wrong.
